Urban Farmers are responsible for the management of urban agriculture processes, which includes the cultivation, harvesting and distribution of produce in urban environments.
Their responsibilities include activities such as supervising daily cultivation activities, managing the harvesting of produce and organising its distribution, ensuring freshness and quality, promoting community engagement through educational and volunteering initiatives.
Skill in managing resources such as water and soil efficiently, applying conservation and recovery practices;
Ability to use advanced technologies to optimise production and monitor environmental conditions;
Depth in managing specific techniques for urban agriculture such as hydroponics, aquaponics and vertical farming
Skills in adapting to changing urban environmental conditions and overcoming operational and logistical obstacles;
Ability to communicate effectively with the community and to lead teams or volunteers;
Ability to develop creative solutions to maximise the use of urban spaces and improve the sustainability of agricultural practices.
